Let’s Go

On Saturday night Chris and I went to “Let’s Go”, David Campbell’s show at The Palms in the Crown Complex. He is an all-round performer and entertainer. We saw his show last year, and this was also great. And the bonus – The Palms restricts the use of flash photography, but with my camera and [...]

Sherlock

Sherlock is Kelly’s dog. But Sherlock spends a lot of time sitting on my lap chewing on his toys. I had not taken a photo today, and decided that it was easier to just take one with the G12 held at arms length.

Birthday cake !

Kelly made a berry cheese cake to take to a birthday celebration lunch for a family friend. This is her attempt, and a really good effort – it was delicious, to make this after first tasting it at Christmas time when it was made by Kendall, my niece.

Tea

While it is warm during the day, I’ve been cooking a barbeque for tea most nights. Tonight I had some fish.

Rose

I went to the St Kilda Botanic Garden at lunch time, one of my  favourite places to go when I need to escape the office for a while. To my surprise the roses were still in bloom, I get used to roses being scheduled around Melbourne Cup, but that doesn’t allow for the Valentine’s Day [...]

Picture Framing Course

For some time I have considered framing some of my photos for display, but wanted to get the frames custom made while I did the matting and design. To get to the advanced matting course, I had to complete the pre-requisite frame making course. Today is frame making course day at FrameCo. The tools we [...]

Catching up with my daily photos

Well, I’ve been working on the redesign of website and not posting my photos even though I have diligently taken a photo a day. So, I’ll post them in one blog post 15th Jan – Best seats in the house Taken at the State Netball and Hockey Centre when it is converted into NBL basketball [...]

Riverfire 2011

After a discussion yesterday with a work colleague, thought that one of the first galleries I would build in my new website would be some fireworks. As NYE in Sydney was not particularly successful, the previous set I had was from Riverfire in Brisbane. Chris and I first saw Riverfire in 2009 in an accident [...]

Cricket season is well underway

I went out for a couple of hours this afternoon, and on every available oval cricket matches were being played. I stopped for a short time to see how the G12 coped with sport photography, but the shutter lag was killing me. This photo was the only one with a ball showing in it, and [...]

Arts Centre Spire has recovered

On New Years Eve, fireworks managed to catch alight and set portions of the spire on fire. Tonight, after attending the Melbourne Theatre Company performance of “The Summer of the Seventeenth Doll”, I took this photo when leaving. The play was our first in our subscription package that Chris and I have. It was very [...]
