Let’s Go

On Saturday night Chris and I went to “Let’s Go”, David Campbell’s show at The Palms in the Crown Complex. He is an all-round performer and entertainer. We saw his show last year, and this was also great. And the bonus – The Palms restricts the use of flash photography, but with my camera and [...]

Zoo Twilights – we are going for a trip down memory lane

Over the past decade, Chris and I have been FOTZ (Friends of the Zoo) members and attended a lot of Zoo Twilight concerts during summer. The concerts were free to zoo patrons when we first started going, so we would go every weekend or two, then a couple of years ago the Zoo managed changed [...]

Rose

I went to the St Kilda Botanic Garden at lunch time, one of my  favourite places to go when I need to escape the office for a while. To my surprise the roses were still in bloom, I get used to roses being scheduled around Melbourne Cup, but that doesn’t allow for the Valentine’s Day [...]

Cricket season is well underway

Arts Centre Spire has recovered

On New Years Eve, fireworks managed to catch alight and set portions of the spire on fire. Tonight, after attending the Melbourne Theatre Company performance of “The Summer of the Seventeenth Doll”, I took this photo when leaving. The play was our first in our subscription package that Chris and I have. It was very [...]

Melbourne’s weather has been terrible for summer

The weather in Melbourne over the past few days has been terrible, especially as it is summer. We have had rain, hail, gale force winds, snow in the alps (REALLY!). Tonight, the rain had disappeared, although the clouds were dark and threatening, it was cold still, and the wind was starting to ease. This was [...]

Eastlink have entertained users with art

The Eastlink Tollway, connecting the Eastern Freeway, and Eastern suburbs, with Dandenong and Frankston has many “art” works along it to add some variety to the drive. On my way to Frankston tonight I stopped and took this photo. Over the next few months I will try to take photos of the entire set of [...]

While scouting for shooting locations …

…. I liked this view along the Yarra River towards Melbourne. I’m still working on the G12′s capabilities so this was a good opportunity to try it at dusk, with the city lights becoming visible.
